A trans-media Performance on language, expression and understanding between analogue and digital realms.
This project reflects upon the relevance and nature of individual expression, the (im)possibility of communication and authentic exchange and upon the challenges posed by the coexistence of the analogue and digital realms.
Our aim is to create a hybrid space in which order and chaos, analogue and digital, predictability and unpredictability turn our innermost 'creative chaos' inside out and make it more tangible for the viewer, where our art and our actions emerge and find each other.
This space is intended to be poetic and documentary-analytical at the same time: it is more a lecture performance with experimental character than a concert performance. We do not want to show only an artistic product, but make its creative process and also its inherent invisible aspects visible and tangible through projections, sound, movement and computer scripts.
In order to develop the choreographic and musical material, we work out a specific and shared score for each scene. Our respective backgrounds and the mutual influence will lead us to develop our very individual interpretation of this common starting point - the score.
The scores can be composed out of all possible analogue or digital types of recordings, instructions, visual or linguistic associations, software programming and automation, text fragments, descriptions of emotional states, patterns, spatial paths, symbols, scores, dance notation, etc…
Ana being a visual synaesthete - which means that for her sounds have form, texture and color - her photisms will be our primary source for these scores, in addition to all the above mentioned elements.
